Making the black WREN skirt from cotton fabric. For the shirt go to the shirt section and stockings, the stocking section.
The cotton for the skirt will still need some modification but at least it gives me room to remove fabric later rather than be too short in width. I aim for the hem of the skirts to be just below the knee to hide some of the earlier stockings that are too short on the new Mattel WW84 body.
I then wrap the fabric around the doll, the Mattel WW84 body has a very narrow waist and large posterior which makes it tricky as it has to be short about the waist and quite wide about the posterior. I secure the skirt with pins to get a look at the fit. The hemming for the width will need to be increased to decrease the width of the skirt, but not too much or the ends won't meet together with the metal fasteners.
Looks OK, now to sew the hems in and add the fasteners. The shoes are by Mattel and come with the doll, I'm not that good.
The final version ready for the fasteners.
First with only two fasteners, but that wasn't enough
Chalk marks indicating location of fasteners. I also added the angles at the waist.
