Making the Chateau St. Lo Normandy France 1944
The Chateau is ongoing in its development and is primarily made from MDF wood painted in sky blue or duck egg blue. TBH any primary colour looks quite good. The French paneling is made using foam board cut with a box cutter (be careful, keep the non cutting hand above the direction of the cut.)
Making the double doors
Making the door panels
I'm using cardboard for the panels and then hot gluing to the foam board. Just doing one side of the door for now.
I'm using 10mm square dowel for the frame that surrounds the jam and header
The boards are loosely held up and not square...

Notice the banners have been removed on advice from Mrs Ryan!
Here you can see I began to look at using gold trim, popular with wealthy room interiors but decided not to continue with it for now, very time consuming. Now I need to sort out door knobs etc. for the finishing touches
Making the painting frames for the Chateau from PVA glue, lace and gold nail polish.
